Ron spent much of his career playing trumpet with many of New Jersey’s and New York’s best big bands. As a side gig, he also set up his PA system and ran sound equipment for NYC’s Harlem Renaissance Big Band, the George ‘G’ Swing Band, the Harlem Swing Dancers, the Ray Abrams Big Band, and various R&B and jazz groups.
All of this, he did while remaining committed to his life mission as a music educator in the New Jersey public school system. He also performed and recorded with Orkestra Pueblo; a group associated with Ruben Blades.
Ron toured with the “Big Show,” hosted by Jerry Butler, featuring the Manhattans, the Ebonys, Ray Goodman & Brown, the Drifters, the Chi-Lites, the Main Ingredient, the Delfonics, McFadden & Whitehead, Heatwave, Black Ivory, Bloodstone, and the Soul Generations.
He is currently the leader of and performing with his jazz group, 4 Plus 1 Jazz Band.
